This page is about the Blues, American music which is now enjoyed world wide. Well they're at it again. All those who say, the Blues is dead.
A little bit about me first; I'm an old man as I keep getting told by 18 (?) year old girls. Only thing is I don't lie about my age like I suspect a lot more than 1/2 of those girls do. I'm 49 years old, I wish age was only in the mind because I have marks on my body from the "Too Many Miles." I am a Lyricist/Singer-Shouter/Blues Harp player. I've been writing lyrics forever, and only playing Harp around nine years. On this sight you'll find samples of my songs and a way to contact me if you'd like me to write a song for you, warning I am most comfortable writing in a 12-bar Blues context so Britney Spears don't have to worry! LOL
IF THAT AIN'T THE BLUES
By WILLY SENKIWSKY 3/25/04 10:00 PM, C-Harp, Key of G, 16-Bar Shuffle from the 1V Inspired by David Allen Coe's "If That Ain't Country"
All my life I broke the rules.
Still do now I sing songs like this!
If that ain't the Blues,
Tell me what the hell it is?
(Chorus 1)
If that ain't the Blues then hot is cold.
And a new born baby is already too damn old!
This diamond on my pinkie must be glass.
If that ain't the Blues I will kiss your ass!
Hey mama I need more brews.
To some I'm a bum I prefer white trash!
Okay if that ain't the Blues,
Sweetheart I will kiss your ass!
When you're down with nothin' to lose,
And she left you waitin' in the rain!
Hell if that ain't the Blues,
Then Sadam must be my name!
(Chorus than Instrumental Break)
Okay baby pass me the booze.
The music I love ain't played on a banjo!
Well, if that ain't the Blues,
Then I really don't know!
(Chorus 2)
If that ain't the Blues then Muddy got no soul.
And a new born baby is already too damn old!
This diamond on my pinkie must be glass.
If that ain't the Blues then I will kiss your ass!
You have seen most of my tattoos.
Hold them burritos they give me gas!
Now if that ain't the Blues,
Then y'all can kiss my ass!!!...

"The Blues are the roots, and the other music is the fruits." One of Willie Dixon's favorite sayings, from I Am The Blues by Willie Dixon with Don Snowden (DaCapo, 1989)
This is an example of the type of songs I write, I'm from the less is more school! Now on the next few pages I'll talk about some Blues-men who have influenced me, starting with Muddy Waters!
